We often get asked about suggested wording for inserts, particularly invitations.

We have suggested templates of traditional, modern and contemporary to start with. These alter between having the bride’s parents inviting guests, to the couple themselves inviting guests. These can be used depending on who you feel most comfortable with inviting guests. It can often be better to invite the guests yourselves if you have divorced parents etc. Sometimes a difficult topic!

You can also save some hassle with the guests’ names. Many inserts include a dotted line to write the guests names on, this could also be changed to say ‘would like to invite you’, so you don’t have to write inside at all!

Another idea is to ask us to print your guests’ names in the insert instead. This costs 20p per card to do so.

Remember if you want that ultimate personalisation, we can also print your guests’ names and addresses on the envelopes for you!

We’re also very happy for you to create your own wording, we just ask you to email it through to us and we’ll set it up with our templates and spacing ready to print. We’ll always send out a mock up (proof) for you to sign it off so you can check it’s exactly as you want it to be.

You can get quite creative with the wording, it’s particularly useful if you’re getting married abroad, or need to say something slightly different to the norm. One order we’re doing at the moment has the insert worded as if it is being sent by the couple’s son (i.e. Mummy and Daddy’s wedding)!

Other items of stationery are personalised to your wedding, so the menu and order of service wording will be agreed with your venue and vicar respectively. Place cards, table cards and table plans are also unique to your wedding, so we’ll ask for lists of names when we’re preparing these items for you. We’ll always get the wording set up for our templates so don’t worry about how it’ll look – that’s our job to get it right!
